8-Year-Old Boy Stabbed at Melbourne Primary School

An 8-year-old boy was stabbed on school grounds at Brentwood Park Primary School in Berwick, Melbourne, around 9 am. Paramedics quickly attended to the boy, providing treatment for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene. The child did not require hospitalization.

Two additional people, including a female staff member, also received treatment for minor injuries. The authorities have spoken to an 11-year-old boy in relation to the incident, who was later taken to the hospital for assessment.

The school enacted its safety protocols, and both Brentwood Park Primary and the nearby Kambrya College were briefly placed in lockdown while police and emergency services responded to the scene.

A Department of Education spokesperson confirmed that the school resumed normal classes shortly after the incident. The investigation is ongoing, with police urging anyone who witnessed the stabbing or has relevant information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact Crime Stoppers.
