Queensland Police Officer Sets Guinness World Record With 733 Pull-Ups in an Hour
A Gold Coast police officer has pulled off an extraordinary feat, officially earning a Guinness World Record for the most pull-ups completed in one hour.
Senior Constable Jade Henderson completed 733 pull-ups during her record attempt on August 22, with the achievement confirmed in late September.
What began as workplace banter turned into a world-class challenge. Henderson says she first considered going for a record after overhearing colleagues discussing the men’s 24-hour pull-up record.
Her record attempt also helped raise $725 for Blue Hope, a charity supporting the mental health of current and former police officers and their families.
“I looked up the female record and thought it was doable,” she said.
She spent months training, at one point completing 3,500 pull-ups in a single 12-hour session as preparation for a 24-hour attempt. But a torn bicep just one week before the planned record try forced her to step back and rethink. Instead, she reset her focus on the one-hour record.
Henderson says the training and determination required had a powerful impact on her well-being.
“The gym is my happy place. It’s where I unwind from work,” she said. “It shows my colleagues that even with shift work, you can make time for your health and fitness, and you can achieve massive things.”
Henderson has served with Queensland Police for eight years, starting in Townsville before moving to the Gold Coast.
