Trump Briefing Cut Short After Man Collapses in Oval Office
A White House press event led by US President Donald Trump came to an abrupt end when a man suddenly collapsed in the Oval Office on Wednesday.
People rush to help a man who collapsed in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington.
Officials rushed to assist as reporters were quickly ushered out of the room. It was initially unclear who the man was or what caused the collapse.
Within minutes, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed in a statement that the individual was “a representative with one of the companies” attending the event and had fainted.
“The White House Medical Unit quickly jumped into action, and the gentleman is OK,” Leavitt said, adding that the drug price announcement would resume shortly.
The event included executives from pharmaceutical giants Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly, both present to discuss prescription drug pricing initiatives.
President Trump later told reporters the man had felt lightheaded but was now fine. However, the unidentified representative did not return to the Oval Office after the incident.
