Homicide Investigation Launched Following Fatal Shooting in Manurewa

New Zealand Police have launched a homicide investigation following the death of a man in Manurewa overnight. Emergency services were called to Balfour Road around 11:10pm on January 8, 2026, after reports that a man had been shot at the address.

Upon arrival at the scene, emergency responders found the man critically injured. Despite the efforts of emergency services personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident marks a serious crime that has prompted a full homicide investigation by Counties Manukau CIB.
