Lamborghini Bursts Into Flames After Crash on Auckland’s Remuera Road
A Lamborghini erupted into flames on Remuera Road this afternoon following a two-vehicle crash in one of Auckland’s most affluent suburbs.
Emergency services rushed to the scene near the intersection of Remuera Rd and Cotter Ave around 2.10pm, where the luxury sports car was engulfed in flames.
Footage from the scene shows thick smoke rising above nearby homes as traffic backed up in both directions. A bent signpost and scattered debris marked the crash site as firefighters worked to douse the blaze.
A witness, who described the incident as a “crazy scene,” said they initially saw smoke coming from the car before flames took hold.
“The smoke started to get quite big. People were backing away — we didn’t know if it was going to blow,” the witness said.
“We were definitely feeling anxious watching it. I felt bad for the owner — I was just like, of all the cars.”
They said the Lamborghini’s driver appeared shaken but unharmed, standing nearby as the car burned.
Police confirmed there were no reported injuries, and Fire and Emergency New Zealand said no one was trapped in either vehicle when crews arrived.
A single fire truck from Remuera attended, and the fire was extinguished shortly afterward.
Police temporarily blocked the road and set up diversions while emergency services cleared the scene and removed the wreckage.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
